Betty kept journals or diaries in which she commented
about her family as it grew through the years.

Here are her observations about teaching at UES, Honolulu from 1962 - 1964.


She reluctantly moved to the mainland as her pregnancy progressed in 1964 so that the
two sets of grandparents on the east coast could enjoy watching their grandchild,
then grandchildren (5) grow and mature. Neither Betty nor husband Ray had siblings.

On June 13, 2006, a fire erupted on campus in the UES building.
The fire spread rapidly, causing a devastating amount of damage to the building.
